Why chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) can be used as impact modifier?
CPE chlorinated polyethylene thermoplastic resin is a thermoplastic elastomer material made of chlorinated high-density polyethylene; It has excellent elongation at break and excellent toughness; This product is a saturated thermoplastic resin with irregular structure. It has good extrusion fluidity when mixed with PVC. It is suitable for PVC hard products and molded products. It is almost crystal free and has excellent flame retardancy, electrical insulation, chemical resistance, oil resistance and water resistance; It has good compatibility with PVC, CR, NBR, etc.
At present, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is the most widely used and economical impact modifier in PVC pipe profile and other industries, which can improve the impact resistance and aging performance. In particular, for large-diameter pressure resistant liquid transmission pipelines, chlorinated polyethylene is mostly used to improve the pressure bearing capacity and increase the service life.
It can also be used as flame retardant for ABS products, shell of electric wires and appliances, soft PVC foam materials, and special synthetic rubber. Compatibilizers used in flame retardant ABS, SAN, HDPE and PP can improve the impact resistance and flame retardancy of impact modifiers.
